What Each Google Flow Credits Plan Buys

Google Flow credits determine how many AI videos you can produce each month, and the math isn’t simple. Since Flow launched in 2025, the platform has moved from Veo-only generation to a dual-model system. In September 2026, Gemini Omni Flash replaced Veo inside the Gemini app and Flow for most everyday tasks. That shift changed per-video costs significantly and widened the gap between what you pay and what you get on some plans.

How Google Flow Credits Work in 2026

Flow doesn’t sell video generations directly. Google provides 50 daily credits, and paid plans to add monthly allowances on top. Every time you generate a clip, edit a scene, upscale to 4K or extend a clip, you spend credits. The cost depends on the model, the resolution, and the clip length.

Here is the detail most guides miss: 50 free credits a day can deliver more than the entry-level paid plans if you use Flow every day. That’s 50 credits × 30 days = 1,500 credits, compared with 200 monthly credits on Google AI Plus. Daily credits reset at midnight Pacific time and don’t carry forward.

Paid plan credits are allocated once per billing cycle and expire at the end of it. Check the account quote before each generation, because the same prompt can cost very different amounts on Gemini Omni Flash at 720p versus Veo 3.1 Quality at 1080p.

Credit Cost per Video: Gemini Omni Flash vs Veo 3.1

Gemini Omni Flash (the new default)

Omni Flash is Google’s default video model in Flow as of September 2026. At 720p, a clip costs 7 credits for 4 seconds, 10 for 6 seconds, 12 for 8 seconds, and 15 for 10 seconds. In Gemini, at 360p the cost is halved, so a 10-second draft runs about 7–8 credits. Video editing costs 40 credits per generation, and 1080p upscaling is included in that price on paid plans.

Veo 3.1 (still available for cinematic work)

Veo 3.1 remains in Flow for high-fidelity cinematic video and supports native audio such as dialogue, sound effects and ambience. A Fast video costs about 20 credits, a Quality video about 100, and a Lite video 10. Ultra subscribers get roughly half-price generations, which drops Fast to 10 credits and Lite to 5, making Veo competitive with Omni Flash at the top tier. For context, an April 2026 MindStudio pricing guide put standard Veo clips at around 50 credits, so Omni Flash is a clear drop for short clips.

What Each Google Flow Credits Plan Buys

What Each Google Flow Credits Plan Buys

Every plan includes 50 daily credits. The figures below use 10-second Omni 720p clips (15 credits each) and are in addition to the daily.

  • Free ($0): Daily credits only, which works out to about 100 Omni clips a month if you log in every day.

  • Google AI Plus ($4.99): 200 monthly credits, or about 13 Omni clips.

  • Google AI Pro ($19.99): 1,000 monthly credits, or about 66 Omni clips (roughly 50 Veo Fast clips).

  • Google AI Ultra ($99.99): 10,000 monthly credits, or about 666 Omni clips.

  • Google AI Ultra ($199.99): 25,000 monthly credits, or 1,666 Omni clips.

The Plus and Pro tiers are where the squeeze shows. A creator posting daily on Pro gets roughly two clips a day before the monthly allocation is gone. Retries, angle changes and fixes eat into that quickly. Once you allow about 1.5 times the base cost per finished clip, Pro’s 1,000 credits yield closer to 44 finished Omni clips than 66 and plus yields about 9.

Omni Flash is a real improvement on older Veo pricing, but it’s still not a production-scale budget unless you get most clips right on the first try.

What Google Flow Credits Means for Creators

Solo creators making 40–60 clips a month can get reasonable value from Pro, at roughly $0.30–0.45 per finished Omni clip after retries. Anyone generating fewer than 30 clips a month may find the free daily credits to cover most of what they need, while studios running dozens of projects will need an Ultra tier. In short, heavy users are better served by Ultra, and casual creators should test the free allowance before paying. Creators who want a different credit model can also look at the Kling AI video generator.
